Iran renews oil swap deals with Caspian states

Iran has renewed oil swap deals with Caspian states. The first portion
of oil will reach the Gulf in 20 days, Iran News reports.

The director of the department for international ties of the National
Oil Company of Iran, Mohsen Kamshari, said that the swap deals had a
5-month break. Deputy Petroleum Minister Ahmad Kalebani said that Iran
had mentioned halting oil swaps in March. $5-6 per barrel were paid.

Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan have deals with Iran. The swap
scheme is beneficial because it needs no oil pipelines.

Iran pumped about 90,000 barrels of oil daily last summer. The
Petroleum Ministry expects the quantity to reach 300,000 barrels daily
in 5 years.
