CIS reports on inflation statistics

Belarus had the highest inflation rate in the CIS in the first half of
2011 (36.2%), followed by Kyrgyzstan - 7.2%, Tajikistan - 7.1%,
Ukraine - 5.9%, Kazakhstan - 5.1%, Russia and Moldavia - 5%, Armenia -
3.5% and Azerbaijan - 2.5%, News.am reports.


Gurgen Martirosyan, head of the price statistics and international
comparisons section of the Armenian National Statistics Service, said
on August 2 that inflation in January-July 2011 is comparable with the
same period in 2010 (9.4%). Prices rose by 15.4%. An average wage
reached 114,100 drams in June 2011, growing by 4.9%.


Deflation in Armenia in June reached 3%. Food prices dropped by 5.9%.
The prices for vegetables (including potatoes) and fruits dropped by
30.7%.


Petrol and diesel fuel dropped by 23.2% and 28.4% respectively.
