Georgia increases foreign trade with the EU and CIS

External trade turnover between Georgia and the EU amounted to $ 1465 million in January-August 2011, which is by 36 percent more as compared with the same period last year, Business Georgia reports.

The share of these countries in the total foreign trade turnover of Georgia amounts to 26 percent. The EU countries account for 34 percent of the trade deficit.

The turnover of Georgia with the CIS countries has also increased. From January-August 2011 it amounted to $ 189 million and increased by 41% up as compared to the same period in 2010.

The entire foreign trade turnover of Georgia from January-August 2011 (excluding non-organized trade) amounted to $ 5687 million and increased by 39%.
