The EU adopted a decision on Monday to begin negotiations with Georgia on the Agreement on Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has announced, News-Georgia reports.
A similar decision has been made with regard to Moldova.
The Agreement on Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade is part of the Associated Agreement between Georgia and the EU, which, in turn, is a part of the initiative "Eastern Partnership".
The "Eastern Partnership" provides political and economic rapprochement of six post-Soviet states such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus with the EU.
