Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov met his Georgian counterpart Nika Gilauri in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports.
Georgia expressed readiness to sign six documents, including a project on mutual visits of citizens and a project on standardization and metrology. Gilauri noted that political ties of both states are at the highest level.
Kazakhstan will continue investing in Georgia, Karim Masimov said. Transit of Kazakh products through Azerbaijan and Georgia is essential, Masimov believes.
Kazakh Minister for Transport and Communications Berik Kamaliyev, Minister for Petroleum and Gas Sauat Mynbayev and head of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Askar Mamin, were also at the meeting. Nika Gilauri invited Masimov to visit Tbilisi. The Kazakh prime minister accepted the invitation.
Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Georgia in 2010 was about $90 million, $21 million of the sum was imports, $68.5 million – imports, according to the Kazakh Statistics Agency.
