The Georgian Union of Importers of Petroleum Products is rounding up 2011. The chairman of the union, Vano Mtvralashvili, said that the year was outstanding for investments. Two major market activists built multifunctional complexes on the Gori motorway, Georgia Online reports.
The main builders of the multifunctional complexes were SOCAR and Visol. The complexes are some of the most advanced in the Caucasus. They meet Western European standards. Two petrol stations were built. Lukoil Georgia, Rompetrol Georgia and Gulf Georgia were also major investors.
The Gulf Company started operating. It is significant for its contribution to competition. This would reduce prices for products and implement advanced standards of service. A new fuel standard will be launched in 2012.
The Georgian market has hardly any unregistered or smuggled fuel.
