South Korea to sign nuclear pact with Turkey

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak will visit Turkey on February 4-7 and meet Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The signing of a nuclear pact for the construction of two nuclear power plants in Turkey will be the main topic for discussions, Armenia Today reports.

The two states may conclude a deal on free trade. South Korea exports products worth over $5.5 billion annually.

South Korea and Turkey cooperate in the military sphere. South Korean is taking part in developing the Altay tank of Turkey and a new howitzer. South Korea may purchase 30 assault helicopters with Turkish weapons, MIGnews reports.
