Nabucco Gas Pipeline International has presented an ecological report to the Turkish Ministry for Environmental Protection and Urbanization, Trend reports.
The report covers a 760 km area between Ankara and the Turkish-Bulgarian border. The document meets the requirements of the form approved in July 2010. Nabucco Gas Pipeline International expects reports on sections between Ankara and the Turkish-Georgian borders, between Sivas and the Turkish-Iranian border in spring 2012.
The Nabucco Gas Pipeline will transport gas from the Caspian Sea and the Middle East to EU states. Its construction is planned to start in 2013, first gas supplies are expected in 2017. The pipeline will have a maximum capacity of 31 billion cubic meters annually. The pipeline will be 3900 km long. OMV (Austria), FGSZ (Hungary), a Bulgarian energy holding, Transgaz (Romania), Botas (Turkey) and RWE (Germany) are shareholders of the project.
Gas extracted within the second stage of the Shah Deniz Field development is to become the source to fill the pipeline. Final proposals on the Nabucco project were presented on October 1, 2011, as well as other projects of the Southern Gas Corridor (TAP and ITGI).
