Head of ‘Sarmatiya’ resigns

The head of the internationalcompany ‘Sarmatiya’, Marchin
Yastshembski, has handed in his resignation, Trend reports, citing
Sergey Skripka.

He said that Yastshembski will resign as of June 14th this year,
without clarifying the reasons.

‘Sarmatiya’ was established within the framework of the oil
transportation project along the Odessa-Brody-Plots-Gdansk route.
Azerbaijan is the main supplier and could also be a transit country.
Azerbaijan will be able to transport oil from Central Asia, for
example from Kazakhstan.

The ‘Odessa-Brody’ project was planned in order to diversify oil
supplies through Ukrainian pipeline and to develop the country’s
transit potential. The Odessa-Brody pipeline was constructed in May
2002, it is 674 km long, with a diameter of 1020 mm. The first stage
and terminal capacity is 9-14 million tons annually.

Participants in ‘Sarmatiya’ are SOCAR (State Oil Company of
Azerbaijan), Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation Ltd. (GOGC – Georgia),
‘Ukratransnafta’ (Ukraine), Przedsiebiorstwo Eksploatacki Rurociagow
Naftowych Przyjazn S.A. (Poland) each having a 24.75% share and AB
Klaipedos Nafta (Lithuania) with a 1% share.
