Gennady Timchenko, a Russian with Finnish citizenship, has become the top billionaire of post-Soviet states, RBC reports.
He used to be among the top 20 for a long time, because experts did not have enough information on his assets in Gunvor, a Russian petroleum exporter.
Timchenko owns $24.61 billion. He made $10 billion last year and passed 13 positions in the list.
The second position belongs to Alisher Usmanov, co-owner of Metalloinvest with a capital of $19.7 billion. The third position belongs to Vladimir Lisin ($18.76 billion) the main shareholder of Novolipetsk Metallurgy Plant. Mikhail Prokhorov ($18.15 billion), owner of Onexim, and Vladimir Yevtushenko ($18.06 billion), CEO of Sistema Company, take the fourth and fifth positions respectively.
Mikhail Fridman ($16.62 billion), owner of Alfa Group, is the sixth, Suleiman Kerimov ($16.56 billion) with Nafta-Moscow is the seventh, Oleg Deripaska ($15.2 billion) of Basel is the 8th, Alexey Mordashov ($15.12 billion) is the ninth and Leonid Mikhelson ($13.76 billion) of Novatek is the tenth.
Rinat Ahmetov from Ukraine is the richest non-Russian in the list. He owns System Capital Management and is also the President of Shakhter FC. He is 15th in the list with $12.4 billion of assets.
