South Korea to invest hundreds of millions in Georgia

South Korea wants to realize a series of investment projects in Georgia, President Mikheil Saakashvili said after meeting his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak, Trend reports.


The Georgian president said that South Korea wants to invest in construction of a new hotel in Batumi, hospitals, dams and a battery factory for vehicles.


This would bring hundreds of millions of dollars worth of investments, open new workplaces and boost the economy, Saakashvili emphasizes. Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze noted that 20 South Korean companies will soon visit Georgia to study the local situation and develop projects. Hyundai is taking part in a tender for construction of two major dams in Georgia, one in Namakhvani and one in Nekresi, the minister adds.
