The remains of the Sukhoi Superjet-100 (SSJ-100) that crashed in Indonesia has been found at Mount Salak, RIA Novosti reports.

The plane was found at 06.42.61.3 С and 106.44.41.2 Е, at an altitude of 5,200 feet near Mount Salak, which is 2 km high.

The plane needed just a few dozen meters to avoid the mountain.

Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that the plane was flying to Jakarta. It was operated by Aeroflot and Armavia. It made the first demonstration flight through six Asian states. 48 people from 5 states, including 8 Russians, were on board. The Russians were staff of the Sukhoi Company. Alexander Yablontsev (the one who flew the SSJ-100 in 2008) was piloting the plane, Alexander Kochetkov was the co-pilot, Oleg Shvetsov was the navigator, Alexey Kirkin was the flight engineer, Denis Rakhimov was the test-flight engineer. Nikolai Martyshenko, deputy head of the test-flight center complex of the Sukhoi Company, Yevgeny Grebenshikov, director of the company for sales, and Christina Kurzhupova, manager for contacts, were on the jet.

Before crashing into the mountain, the pilot requested to drop altitude from 10,000 to 6,000 feet. He was given permission.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev organized a special commission to investigate the accident under the supervision of the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade.
