Iran to build broad-fuselage aircraft

Manuchehr Manteki, head of the Iranian Organization for Aviation Industry, announced plans to build Iranian national broad-fuselage plan, Iran News reports.

 

The plane will carry 52 passengers. Manteki said that the organization plans to build a plane for 100 passengers next year. Planes capable of carrying 150 and more passengers may be built in 5-7 years. Small planes may be purchased at a price of two cars these days. Special flight lessons take about 10-20 hours to receive a license.

 

Urmia in the Western Azerbaijan Province will open the fifth center for pilot training. 10 more such centers will open all over the country. Manteki said that Iran had 6 enterprises building minor planes. They produce four-seat aircraft. A six-seat machine and a plane for 15 passengers are being designed. Minor aircraft are mostly exploited by private organizations.
