GUAM free trade zone reaches $2.8 billion of trade turnover

 

The trade turnover of the free trade zone of GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova) reached about $2.8 billion in the three quarters of 2012.

Ukraine exported products worth $1.5 billion in January-September 2012, imported worth $300 million, Azerbaijan exported goods worth $520 million and imported for $970 million, Georgia $600 million and $900 million respectively, Moldova $100 million and $550 million respectively.

GUAM was founded at a summit of the European Union in Strasburg in 1997. Uzbekistan joined it in 1999 and left at a summit in Kiev in 2006. The organization was renamed to GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development.
