According to a recent report by Global Financial Integrity (GFI), the flight of capital in Russia during the last 18 years has reached $211.5 billion and the shadow economy accounts for 46 per cent of the country's GDP.
Director for Macroeconomic Research of the Higher School of Economics, former deputy finance minister and former deputy head of Central Bank Sergey Aleksashenko told Ekho Miskvy in an interview that the similar figures have already been established by other research.
Aleksashenko himself believes the figures are exaggerated, but not far from reality.
