The chairman of the board of directors of the Iranian association of manufacturers of washing powder, detergents and abstergents, hygiene products and perfumery, Ali Nagib, emphasized that the level of washing powder production in Iran is three times higher than demand, leading to serious competition among producers. Most of Iran's washing powder is exported, but nonetheless its makers have a hard fight for the internal market, Iran News reports, citing ISNA.
The demand for detergents drops in summer, because the schools close and the period of holidays and vacations starts.
Nagib noted that detergents and abstergents have a minimal demand level that never lowers, meaning that changes in the market have little influence on detergent sales.
