The Russian government has approved rules for acceptable retail prices on several “socially important” food products of prime necessity. Retail prices will be set by the government for these items if they have risen in price by 30% in the previous 30 days. There are 24 products on the list, published on the government website, including bread, tea, milk and beef.
The resolution on the case signed by the Prime-Minister Vladimir Putin is published at the Cabinet's website. Margin of the retail prices are ajusted by the government for the period of 90 days, if during 30 days retail prices has risen by 30% on the territory of a Federation subject. 24 products entered the list, such as beef, milk, black tea, bread etc. The prices rised by 5,4% in the first six months of 2010, according to the Federal Service of State Statistics. The act also states products without recompence for commercial outlets.
