Iran has opened two lines of credit worth $4 billion to Syria, the Syrian government newspaper "Tishrin" reports.
"Iran, in the continuation of its support for Syria, has opened a credit line worth $1 billion to finance imports of consumer goods, and a second credit line worth $3 billion to finance the purchase of crude oil and petroleum products," the head of the Syrian Central Bank, Adib Mayalya, is quoted by RIA News.
In April this year, Mayalya said in an interview that in addition to Iran, Syria is negotiating loans with Russia and other countries. According to him, the economic loses of Syria during the two years of bloody conflict have amounted to about €25 billion.
