Iran wants India to import more gas in order to change the route of the constructed pipeline. Iran plans to reduce prices for gas exports and sell Farzad B gas, ISNA reports.
Iranian Petroleum Minister Rostam Ghasemi will visit New Deli to discuss the gas issues with India.
Farzad B will become the first Iranian field to be put on a Production Sharing Agreement. India has been expressing interest in joining the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline many times. The pipeline will allow Iran to export 150 million cubic meters of gas to Pakistan, India and China daily.
Indian Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Veerappa Moily said in March that India was negotiating the Peace pipeline construction, a 2,700-km pipeline project proposed in 2005 to connect the three countries.
According to the deal on financing the project signed in Islamabad, Iran will grant Tadbir Energy Development Group a loan worth $500 million to build the pipeline to Pakistan. Iran will grant $250 million on the first stage. The pipeline will be launched in 2014.
The Iran-Pakistan pipeline is worth about $1.2-1.5 billion to transport about 21.5 million cubic meters of Iranian gas. Over 900km of the pipeline have been built.
