The USA and Georgia will settle an agreement on issuing an aid package worth $83 million to Georgia. According to the agreement, out of $1 billion, $83 million will be spent on improving the infrastructure and assisting in economic growth, as well as giving aid to people displaced due to the conflicts of the 90s and 2008, Georgia Online reports.
The agreement will be signed by the US ambassador, John Bass, and the Minister of Finance, Kakha Baidurashvili, in Gori in the building of the administration of Shida Kartli. Georgia will provide $24 million.
The agreement includes such projects as development of municipal infrastructure of the 5 municipalities harmed by the conflict, which includes rehabilitation of the irrigation system; stimulation of municipal development and growth of the agricultural economy and technical support for economic start-ups; aid to renovate housing and improve housing conditions for temporarily displaced people.
