Russian Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onishchenko said that the new inspection carried out at the Georgian National Wine Agency of the Agriculture Ministry and companies in Adjara, Batumi, Racha, Shida Kartli and Kakheti resulted in only part of companies gaining permission to sell their products in Russia, ITAR-TASS reports.
He said that the results of the inspection could be classified as “satisfactory”. They will be published on September 23.
Onishchenko noted that the US naval microbiological laboratory in Georgia was still a facility of uncertain objectives for Russia.
Russian inspectors visited about 20 Georgian wine makers, 5 manufacturers of mineral water and beer companies Natakhtari and Zedazeni on September 16-20.
