Russia to inspect Georgian citrus fruits again

Ullubiy Magomedov, Director of the All-Russian Research Institute for Plant Quarantine, and Irina Barinova, Chief Specialist of the Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Monitoring Service, arrived in Georgia last night to monitor exports of Georgian citrus fruits to the Russian market, Interfax reports.Zurab Lipartiya, head of the Department for Phytosanitary Monitoring at the National Food Agency of the Georgian Ministry for Agriculture, said that the Russian officials will visit Adjara this morning. Five more experts of the Russian federal service will join them in the monitoring process.The delegation will stay in Georgia until December 10 to check every portion of the fruits sent to Russia.Adjara produces 80% of all Georgian citrus fruits. It plans to collect 110,000 tons of tangerines, oranges and lemons.
