Turkish Minister for Energy Taner Yildiz said that the country was not planning to increase imports of oil from Iran, Trend reports.
He noted that the Turkish prime minister will discuss prices for Iranian gas in the light of Ankara and Tehran’s lawsuits to the International Court of Arbitration. The gas price of Iran exceeds the market price.
Iran and Turkey signed a deal in 1996, according to which 10 billion cubic meters of gas will be sold to Turkey daily. Yildiz said that Turkey had to reduce oil imports from Iran to 105,000 barrels a day due to international sanctions. Imports would increase, should the sanctions be lifted, according to Yildiz.
