The price for dollars increased by 0.06 rubles and for euros by 0.21 rubles today. High oil prices and interventions by the Russian Central Bank have stabilized the situation, News Kazakhstan reports.
Pavel Demeshik of ING Eurasia said that the falling price of the ruble was a reaction to the devaluation of the Kazakh tenge this morning. If it were not for a large offer of currency from corporations in the morning at a rate of 34.80 rubles per dollar, the price would have dropped even lower.
