BP Regional President Gordon Birrell said that realization of the Shah Deniz-2 project worth $25 billion started, Business Georgia reports.
Construction of a parallel pipeline with a length of 387km in Azerbaijan and 55km in Georgia will be built. New station to regulate pressure and two compression stations in Georgia will be installed.
16 billion cubic meters of gas will be extracted within the second stage of Shah Deniz development. 6 billion cubic meters will be exported to Turkey and 10 billion to Europe.
Georgia will receive $2 billion of investments. About 2,000 workplaces will be open during the construction and about 130 to exploit the system, said Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze.
