Within the framework of the visit to Bolivia of Iranian Minister of Industry and Mines Ali Akbar Mekhrabiyan, the sides agreed on Iran granting a 200 million euro credit to Bolivia, Iran.ru reports, citing the ISNA agency.
The sum will be spent on developing industry.
At a joint conference with Bolivian President Evo Morales, Ali Akbar Mekhrabiyan said that the credit will finance geological prospecting and the textile industry in Bolivia. There are no limitations on using the credit in other industrial spheres.
Evo Morales emphasized that the credit demonstrates the friendly relations between the two countries. He said that the countries should continue developing trade-economic ties.
Evo Morales noted that the relations between the two countries have been improving particularly well ever since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad became Iranian president. In August 2007 Iran undertook the responsibility to invest $1.1 billion into the agricultural, industrial, energy and service sectors of Bolivia.
