Shareholders of the Transadriatic Pipeline (TAP) consider the sea
field 'Shakh-Deniz-2' a source for filling the pipeline with 10
billion cubic m of gas annually, a joint statement by EGL, Statoil and
E. On Ruhrgas says, Trend reports.
The statement said that Iranian gas will not be used due to the
current political conditions.
TAP will be ready when 'Shakh-Deniz-2' starts operating, the Managing
Director of Tap Kjetil Tungland said.
TAP starts in Greece, goes through Albany and the Adriatic Sea to
Italy. The pipeline includes a 115 km underwater section from Albany
to Italy. The construction expenses will reach $2.2 billion. Initially
the pipeline will transport 10 billion cubic m of gas annually, its
maximum capacity is 20 bilion. The pipeline is 520 km long.
