As of 10.06am at the Moscow Exchange, the dollar price exceeded 52 rubles, the euro price increased by 1.35 rubles to 64.24 rubles. As of 10.21am, the dollar price increased by 1.29 rubles to 51.70 rubles, the euro by 1.48 rubles to 64.38 rubles, RIA Novosti reports.
Both currencies broke the records of early Monday, reaching 52.05 and 64.94 rubles respectively.
Oil prices dropped to their lowest since 2009. Futures for Brent are selling for $68.44 per barrel, dropping by 2.4% since Friday.
