Expert of the Russian Finance Ministry Alexander Sakovich reported today that in 2014 the average price of Urals petroleum mix, under which the Russian Federation supplies oil abroad, was $97.6 per barrel. The expert recalled that in 2013 the same figure was $107.88 per barrel, meaning the price fell by 9.53%.
According to RIA Novosti, a much more severe drop in the price of Urals was experienced in December: $61.07 per barrel compared to $109.88 per barrel in December 2013 (meaning a drop of 44.4%).
Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukayev said in December that the average oil price of $60 per barrel in 2015 would lead to the Russian economy shrinking by 3%. The current forecast of the Office is a decline of 0.8% of the average annual price of Urals to $80 per barrel.
