Ruble's fall has affected lives of half of Russians

The depreciation of the ruble has had a negative affect on the lives of 48% of Russian citizens.

 

The Russian Central Bank conducted its survey on December 8-15, 2014, 2,000 respondents from 43 Russian regions participated in it. During the survey, the respondents expressed their opinions about the price increases in stores, the forced savings and alarm for depreciating savings.

 

The survey showed that 57% of respondents have no doubt that in the case of further deterioration of the economic situation, their living conditions will become heavier.

 

"Actually, all the indicators characterizing Russians’ borrowing and saving guidelines have deteriorated sharply," TASS cited the report of the Central Bank.

 

Specifically, the share of Russians considering the current period as bad for purchases on credit has risen to its highest level of 48% in the past four years. The survey also registered a sharp increase in the number of Russians who consider the current situation to be unfavorable for savings.

 

The share of people trusting the ruble as a currency for savings, people who prefer to keep money in bank accounts and people who actually have savings has fallen to its minimum level on record (62%).
