The British bank HSBC intends to leave Turkey. The reason for this decision is related to the global economic crisis, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet writes today.
HSBC entered the Turkish market in 1991, and in 1999 acquired Turkey’s Demirbank. At the moment, the bank has 298 branches in the country.
Earlier it was reported that the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and US-based Citibank, which is selling its stake in Turkey’s Akbank, are planning to leave Turkey, Trend reports.
