Turkish company 'Cengiz İnsaat' became the winner of the tender for constructing hydraulic structures for the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey, Hurriyet newspaper reports today.
However, the newspaper didn't specify the tender fee, Trend reports.
The creation of infrastructure for the first nuclear power plant Akkuyu, which will be built in accordance with the Russian project, began in Turkey in April 2015, the Director General of Akkuyu Nuclear JSC, Fuad Akhundov, said.
The first Turkish nuclear power plant will be equipped with four VVER reactors, the project cost is about $20 billion. The installed capacity of each power unit at the nuclear plant will be equal to 1,200 megawatt. The nuclear power plant will produce about 35 billion kilowatt hours of electricity per year.
