Russia has no plans to increase retirement age

The Russian government is not discussing an increase in the retirement
age, Health Minister Tatyana Golikova said, RIA Novosti reports.


Russian Vice-Premier and Finance Minister Alexey Kudrin said on
October 18 that the retirement age for men will be increased to 62,
for women -- to 60. The increase will be gradual and will start in 6-7
years. The current retirement age is 60 for men and 55 for women.


The minister said that the increase of retirement age, as well as
reform of the pension system, are long-term programs of development.
