Iranian gas condensate exports reach $3 billion

The sum of gas exports from Iran’s South Pars field reached $3
billion, according to the head of the Pars economic zone, Musa Suri,
Trend reports, citing PressTV.


From April 21 to October 22 South Pars exported approximately 5.32
million tons of gas condensate, worth approximately $3 billion, using
the Pars port complex, Suri said. This was a growth of 50% compared
with the same period in 2009.


The total amount of energy products exported from the Pars economic
zone came to 8 million tons, worth $5.177 billion. The export sum
reached $2.2 billion. Gas and other products of oil processing are
exported to Asia and Europe.


The South Pars gas field is located in the Persian Gulf on the border
zone of Iran and Qatar. Estimates of gas reserves are 14 trillion
cubic meters. The field covers 3,700 square kilometers. The process of
developing South Pars was split into 28 phases.


According to BP, Iranian gas supplies in late 2009 amounted to 29.61
trillion cubic meters, with oil reserves of 137.6 billion barrels.
