The variant of receiving gas from Turkmenistan using the pipeline through the Caspain Sea and Caucasus is very important for the EU, - EU’ Gunther Oettinger Commissioner for Energy said in Ashkhabad on the first International Gas Congress on Wednesday, Trend reports.
He said that he is to meet Trukmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymuhhamedov on Wednesday to discuss the issues to achieve this goal.
"I will monitor the solving of this issue and I hope to get a result in this sphere”, - Oettinger said.
What concerns the argues between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan about Caspian borders, which halt construction of the pipeline between the countries, Oettinger notified that he will support good relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
“I have the feeling that there are no obstruction in constructing the pipeline between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan”, - the commissioner said. He expressed confidence that if any political and rights disagreements arise between the two countries, they must be resolved.
According to Oettinger, construction of Nabucco pipeline, which will supply Europe with gas coming from the Caspian Sea region, will provide Turkmenistan with great benefits. He notified, that the European Commission will provide Turkmenistan with all the necessary security and stability for exporting energy resources to EU.
