BP spent $1.099 billion on Azerbaijan within the framework of the
Devon Energy deal for purchase of a share in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli
(ACG) field of the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, the company
reports.
The total sum of the company's expenses in the first nine months of
this year reached $17.555 million against $14.396 million in the same
period last year. The level of capital expenses in the third quarter
reached $6.656 million, compared with $4.983 million in the same
period last year.
BP is a participant and an operator of the large energy projects of
Azerbaijan. It wanted to purchase a share in Devon company to develop
ACG block in August this year.
A 5.63% share was split between BP (3.29%) and the state company
Chevron (0.99%), Inpex (0.96%) and Itocu (0.38%).
BP has a 37.43% share in ACG project, Chevron, Inpex, Itocu have
11.27%, 10.96% and 4.3% correspondingly. The rest belongs to AzACG -
10%, Statoil - 8.56%, Exxon - 8%, TPAO - 6.75%, Hess - 2.72%.
Devon announced conclusion of a major deal with BP on March 11.
According to the deal, BP agreed to purchase assets of Devon in
Brazil, Azerbaijan and a deep sea area of the Gulf of Mexico for $7
billion.
