The Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili, intends to reduce the
public sector car pool in Georgia by two thirds. The second step will
be the purchasing of electric vehicles for the public sector, he said
today at a meeting with students at the Open University, headed by the
ex-Minister of the Economy, Kakha Bendukidze, Trend reports.
According to Saakashvili, the country now has three priorities: the
development of energy, tourism and agriculture. “These three areas
will enable us to develop our country,” he said.
The President of Georgia stressed that $5 billion will be invested
into the energy sector of Georgia over the coming year. “This will
give us the opportunity to develop the export of electricity, which
will be cheap,” he claimed.
