Recent technical problems have led to the temporary suspension of thousands of Iranian centrifuges used to enrich uranium, the Associated Press reports, citing diplomatic sources in Vienna, where the headquarters of the IAEA are located.
There is no information on the causes of the incident. However they say that a complete shut-down of centrifuges at Natanz, even for a short time, is an unprecedented event, RIA Novosti reports.
Last week, analysts said that the computer virus Stuxnet, that appeared in July, could have been created for the disruption of the Iranian uranium enrichment plants. According to experts, by the end of September more than half of all global infections with Stuxnet had happened in Iran.
