Russia and Armenia open trade offices

The government of Russia has approved an agreement on opening trade
offices in Russia and Armenia. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin
signed the document, RIA Novosti reports.


The agreement was signed as a result of negotiations between the
Russian and Armenian presidents, Dmitry Medvedev and Serzh Sargsyan,
in August this year.


The trade turnover between Russia and Armenia in January0July 2010
increased by 19.3%, compared with the same period last year, and
reached $422.8 million. Russian export to Armenia rose by 18.3%, to
$354.9 million, Armenian export to Russia - by 24.8%, making $67.9
million.


At a meeting of Putin and Sargsyan in Moscow in late November, the
Armenian leader noted that the trade turnover between the two
countries increased by 12% this year.
