Iran and Afghanistan have concluded an agreement on mutual
understanding in Kabul. The document is aimed at improving bilateral
ties in the employment and social spheres of both countries, RBK
reports, citing the Iranian channel Press TV.
The Iranian Minister of Welfare and Social Relations, Abdolreza
Sheikholeslami, and his Afghan counterpart, Amen Afzali, signed the
agreement.
Opening the center of social rehabilitation in Kabul is the first step
in improving bilateral ties. Iranian investment into construction of
the facility reached $1 million in the last 30 months. The center sees
up to 100 people daily for medical consultationss, training, speech
therapy and occupational therapy.
The easing of demand for Iranian migrants to Afghanistan may one of
the most important steps in developing employment ties between the two
countries. The issue concerns approximately 3 million people. The
Iranian minister says that such an initiative will boost the common
labor market and prosperity of both states. Tehran says that it is
ready to support Kabul.
