The World Bank has approved the package of financial support for
Armenia worth $25 million, the head of the bank's office in Yerevan,
Jean-Michel Happi, said, News Armenia reports.
The loan is aimed at supporting low-income families, stimulation of
capital, the improvement of the country's competitiveness and was
provided within the Second Development Policy Operation (DPO) program.
The financing will make pre-school programs more accessible and will
allow medical services in treating non-infection disease to be more
efficient.
The credit will help use the new code of mineral resources and tax
administration.
The Third Development Policy Operation worth $20 million will be
launched in 2011.
The First Development Policy Operation worth $60 million was signed in
Yerevan on September 21, 2009.
The WB has 18 active projects in Armenia since 1992. They are worth a
total of $1.4 billion.
