Iran and the six world mediators (USA, Russia, China, UK, France and
Germany) will stress practical steps to alleviate the concern of the
world community over the Islamic Republic's nuclear program in late
January, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said at a joint
press-conference with the prime minister of Qatar in Doha, ITAR-TASS
reports.
Clinton says that the talks with Iran will be held in Istanbul.
Clinton visited the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar, where she
was convincing leaders to keep up the economic pressure on Iran to
have it abandon its nuclear ambitions.
The negotiations with Iran re-opened after a 14-month break at the end
of last year. The sides had discussions in Geneva on December 6-7,
where they agreed to continue the talks in Istanbul in January.
The Iranian representative to IAEA Ali Asgar Soltaniye warned that the
talks in Istanbul on January 21-22 may be the "last chance" for the
West to improve the negotiation process with Iran.
