The Georgian state commission for coordination of integration into
NATO has approved the Annual National Program (ANP) for 2011.
The program includes many aspects of the current and planned reforms
in Georgia, starting from strengthening of positions, management of
the state border, defense, security, energy and ending with approval
of democratic institutions, foreign policy and work on legislature,
Georgy Baramidze, Vice-Premier and State Minister for Integration into
European and Euro-Atlantic Structures, said.
The reform is aimed at integration into NATO, improvement of the
population’s wealth and promoting democracy.
The program will be sent to the NATO headquarters.
Officials from all state structures working on the ANP were involved
in the commission.
The program for 2011 is the third phase in realizing the ANP. NATO
gave a positive rating to the Georgian program for 2009-2010. The ANP
and the NATO-Georgian commission are the main instruments for
integration into the alliance.
