Leaders of a number of countries have expressed condolences over the
terrorist attack at Moscow's Domodedovo airport.
US President Barack Obama was outraged by the attack, which killed at
least 35 people. Obama was informed about the terrorist attack in
Moscow at 10.45 am (18.45 MSK) by the national security adviser John
Brennan. Replying to questions, a spokesman for the White House said
that the administration will continue its dialogue with the Russian
authorities, both on the possibility of aid after the attack and on
the fight against terrorism in general. "Our thoughts are with the
families of those killed and wounded in the attack. We pray for the
recovery of all those affected by the explosion" , the press-secretary
quotes the words of Obama.
NATO Secretary General, Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen has strongly
condemned the terrorist attack in Moscow airport and stressed the need
to strengthen cooperation between Russia and NATO in fighting
terrorism, reads his statement posted on the NATO website.
Condolences were also received from German Chancellor Angela Merkel
and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
