Persian Gulf states support tough actions against Bahrain protests

The  foreign ministries of the Persian Gulf monarchies support
Bahrain's authorities, where mass anti-government protests have taken
place, and spoke out against any interference in the kingdom's
affairs, RIA Novosti cites BAM.

The capital of Bahrain, Manama, saw an emergency session of the
Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (CCASG), organized
by foreign ministers of the organization's members. The organization
includes Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman.

The council confirmed the support of Bahrain in politics, economy,
security and defense and called the stability and security of the
kingdom a "collective responsibility".

The Healthcare Ministry of Bahrain said that three people died and
over 230 were injured in disorder on the Pearl Square in Bahrain.
Western media say that four people died, 95 were injured. Six people
have already died since the start of the protests.

The protests in Bahrain have been going on for days now. The first
protests started at a Shiite village of Karkazan, south of Manama, on
Sunday. More protests started at the Nuwaidrat village on Sitra Island
on Monday. The protesters demand reforms. Then crowds of people
established a tent camp at the central square.

The protests in Bahrain were inspired by popular uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt.
