The South Ossetian authorities may dismiss the government headed by Vadim Brovtsev. The republican parliament started collecting signatures in order to pass a vote of censure to the cabinet council. Brovtsev was appointed Prime Minister in March 2009. He was recommended by the Russian Ministry for Regional Development. Brovtsev
has conducted administrative reform, reduced the number of officials and appointed people from Russia to control the financial sphere, barring experts from the Kokoita’s (Ossetian President's) team from the flows of funds. Experts say these measures caused discontent with the Prime Minister among the republic's authorities.
"In reality, the funds are controlled not by Brovtsev, but by Moscow. He has been sent to the republic for this purpose. Even if abuses occur (and this cannot be ruled out), their volume is negligible compared with the situation in South Ossetia under the previous government. Under Brovtsev, things have started getting done, progress
is quite slow, but it exists. Now the president's circle seems to covet wealth and power and wants to break through to Russian sinecures" the former South Ossetian Prime Minister Oleg Teziev said.
If Brovtsev’s government is dismissed it will be the third change of cabinet since the war of August 2008.
