Tens of thousands of protesters have gathered at Tahrir Square in Cairo, a month since the first protests, RIA Novosti reports.
The new protests were entitled “The Friday of Release and Solidarity”.
The protesters want the resignation of Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik, who was appointed by the former president, Hosni Mubarak. They also demand the former president undergo trial and be removed from Sharm el-Sheikh.
People are demanding that the High Military Council lift the state of emergency in the country, disband the state security service and release political convicts.
The coordination committee of the revolution and the Muslim Brotherhood said that they are the organizers of the protests in the center of Cairo.
Mubarak resigned on February 11. He left the economy and social situation of Egypt in poor condition and the internal security system in collapse. Social injustice, corruption and poverty are believed to be the reasons for the unrest. 365 people died and 5,500 were injured.
