The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, whom President Dmitry Medvedev has proposed for re-election, has held a meeting with officials and clergy in the republic.
"From the recovery phase we are moving to a stage of prosperity, and in this way we consider the spiritual and moral upbringing of the younger generation to be particularly important. No matter how powerful our economy is, and we believe this will definitely come true at some point, there will be no happy life for society without high moral standards," Kadyrov's press service quoted his speech.
Kadyrov described the participation of young people from disadvantaged families in bandit organizations "our common failing."
