Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has shared his experience on combatting crime levels and bandits, Yuga.ru reports.
In an interview with Noviye Izvestia he said that militants are still committing crimes in Chechnya, and that some joined the militants for money, while others realize their wrong decision too late. Militants do not allow people to abandon them.
Kadyrov said that using force alone will not solve the problem. Muftis need to work in schools and higher educational centers to teach young people to avoid being provoked. He underlined that they are working with every child from low-income families. He noted that closing gambling centers had had a positive effect as well.
The Chechen leader said that 10,000-15,000 militants have been killed over the last 10 years, and that here are 30-50 criminals left. There have been no suicide-bombings in Chechnya since 2009.
