Russia and Saudi Arabia on Thursday warned against international political or military intervention in Libya. Both parties said that such actions could only make the situation worse, RIA-Novosti cites the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Earlier in the day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and presidential envoy to the Middle East, Alexander Saltanov, and the Saudi ambassador to Moscow, Ali ben Hasan Jaafar, discussed the situation in the Middle East.
The unrest in Libya began on February 15, following the ouster of authoritarian regimes in Tunisia and Egypt. Libyans are demanding an end to Muammar Gaddafi's 42-year rule.
